Position Overview:
Informatics Studio, a design and technology collaborative focused on social innovation worldwide, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager. In this role, you will lead the business development efforts for our domestic practice, targeting federal, non-profit, foundation, and corporate markets. Your primary responsibility will be to identify opportunities and capture new business by leveraging your extensive network and proven track record in winning contracts within these markets. Your understanding of our interdisciplinary approach, combined with your ability to communicate its value to decision makers, will be critical in expanding our client base and driving growth in new markets.
Responsibilities:
1. Identify and pursue new business opportunities:
- Utilize your extensive contacts and industry knowledge to identify potential clients and opportunities in federal, non-profit, foundation, and corporate domestic markets.
- Conduct market research to understand client needs and challenges, and tailor our services to meet their objectives.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of our interdisciplinary approach and effectively communicate its value to decision makers.
2. Client acquisition and relationship management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers in target markets.
- Develop and deliver compelling presentations and proposals that demonstrate our unique blend of expertise and address client requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop customized solutions that align with client objectives.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure profitable agreements.
3. Sales and revenue generation:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and business goals.
- Track sales metrics, analyze performance, and provide regular reports to the management team.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling our services to existing clients.
4. Market expansion and partnership development:
- Identify and pursue opportunities to expand into new markets within the domains of health and life
sciences, education, economics, energy, and the environment.
- Establish strategic partnerships and alliances to enhance our market presence and broaden our reach.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and networking forums to build brand awareness and cultivate relationships.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in business development, with a proven track record
of winning contracts in federal, non-profit, foundation, and corporate domestic markets that focus on
social innovation.
- Extensive network and contacts within the target markets.
- Strong understanding of the web design industry, social innovation, and interdisciplinary approaches.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in CRM software, project management tools, and MS Office suite.
