Gulf Winds International, Inc. was founded in April 1996. The idea was to develop a full-service, third-party logistics company that would focus on warehousing, container drayage, and truckload solutions.
Today Gulf Winds is the leading intermodal drayage and warehousing provider in the Gulf region with over 750 trucks and operating over 1.2 million square feet of Port Houston warehouse space. By any measurement standard, Gulf Winds is a remarkable success story. In just a few years, the company has grown from only four employees with one account to over 250 employees with strategic locations in Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, Mobile, Memphis and Savannah.
Purpose of Position:
Responsibilities for this position are to develop business for our warehouse and container yard business segments from both new and existing accounts. This will be done by monitoring the Pricing Inbox for rate requests, understanding the complete scope of the request, and developing an accurate and competitive rate. In addition, the candidate will be expected to help grow new business by executing a go to market strategy to uncover new business. Finally, the candidate will develop business relationships with existing accounts through high level account contact, and regular rate reviews with Warehouse and Container Yard Operations and Customer Service.

- Ability to connect and build lasting relationships with high level customer contacts.
- Must become an expert on Gulf Winds operations and how Gulf Winds operations integrates into the broader supply chain.
- Must have a high- level understanding of Gulf Winds sales process.
- Team player with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have exceptional negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills
- Demonstrated computer literacy in MS Word Office and related products.
- Critical, time sensitive decision making that impacts contractual agreement.
- Able to present potential clients with warehouse, container, and transportation solutions within complete understanding of Gulf Winds core services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities includes the following. Other duties may be assigned as deemed appropriate by Senior Management.
- Execute on-boarding process to ensure both internal and external customers' expectations are met.
- Create positive behavioral differentiation with current and potential customers by demonstrating and upholding our brand promise, brand position, and brand personality.
- Achieve profitable sales growth with current key accounts, through new business opportunities, rate management, and contract negotiation.
- Develop and maintain expertise in local and global markets.
- Actively participate in industry organizations and functions.
- Achieve profitable sales growth through new account acquisition.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have computer literacy in MS Office products and Salesforce.
- Must have 2-4 years of 3PL Sales experience.
- Must have knowledge in warehouse operations and quoting transload rates.
- Must have exceptional negotiating and communication skills.
Formal Education:
- Bachelor's degree in general business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred but will consider equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
