Job Description
Our client is a growing supplier of plastic and formed metal products and tooling, serving multiple markets. They produce high quality parts with short lead times that exceed customers’ expectations.


The Business Development Director will drive plastics, metal prototype and low volume production sales to Aerospace and Defense customers in North America. We are specifically seeking a professional who can stand-up and establish a book of business for the company in the Aerospace and Defense markets. This role can be based anywhere in the U.S.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with aerospace and defense customers, ensuring profitability, cost saving measures, pricing and marketing strategies, current and future market potential
  • Work with cross functional teams such as manufacturing and quality to ensure customer needs are being met with design, cost, and timelines
  • Establish and execute marketing and sales strategies, including conducting competitive analysis and pricing information, negotiating high level contracts, identifying market opportunities and penetrating new accounts
  • Recommend appropriate products, including standard and custom engineered solutions to meet customers' needs
  • Strengthen customer relationships, with the ability to recognize and communicate customer trends and needs.
  • Structure complex deals, negotiate pricing, terms, contracts, and sales conditions
  • Lead and coordinate all commercial aspects for Aerospace and Defense accounts.
Qualifications:


  • Product and/or customer system level technical expertise.
  • Ability to travel domestically.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Skilled negotiator.
  • Engineering degree or similar technical experience with plastic and/or metal parts a plus.
  • Experienced commercial acumen and customer management leadership.
  • Self-starter and entrepreneurial.
  • Strong professional network, must have established Aerospace / Defense industry relationships
  • 10 years experience with Aerospace & Defense Industry requirements.
