About the Company

Upkara has developed a novel biopreservation technology aiming to eliminate cold storage requirements for biological reagents and pharmaceuticals. In addition to having innumerous applications in the biological reagents, biobanking, and human health markets, it will also enable the delivery of life-saving medicines to regions lacking the infrastructure required for medical storage.

About the Opportunity

Upkara is seeking a highly experienced leader to oversee our organization's ongoing operations and procedures at a critical juncture as the company transitions from a recent Series A raise to the next step in its growth trajectory. This will include oversight of business operations, manufacturing (outsourced) and partnerships. The role is a key member of the senior management team, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and, in short, we’re looking for an action oriented decision maker.

Key responsibilities include the following:

1. Oversee daily operations of the company and the work of administrative and delivery functions (IT, HR, Marketing, Finance, etc.)
2. Drive and implement business strategies, plans, and procedures.
3. Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth, and evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics.
4. Drive the company's operating capabilities to surpass customer satisfaction and retention, and company goals.
5. Assist the CEO in fundraising ventures and in interfacing with the Board of Directors and investors.
6. Participate in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances, etc.)
