Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000
Employment Type: Full-Time, on-site 5 days per week

Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Benefits Specialist and Payroll & Benefits Manager, the Benefits Specialist assists employees with benefits enrollment and questions, verifies all insurance billing, maintains employee database, and files, and ensures compliance with required benefit notices.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and maintain weekly & biweekly employee reports, new-hire, and LOA reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Assists with administering COBRA (Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act) administration.
  • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries
  • Prepare and set up meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other related incentive programs. Ensure distribution of required employee notices.
  • Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
  • Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit claims.
  • Validates employee enrollments with carriers and processes life status changes
  • Assist HR (Human Resources) leadership in completing benefits reporting requirements.
  • Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction.
  • Assist Payroll & Benefits Manager in obtaining statistics and information in renewal process of any health, life and retirement plans that benefit the company.
  • Assists with the open enrollment process and communication roll-out, assists with Benefits
  • Conduct benefits orientations and explain benefits self-enrollment system.
  • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group medical, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), transit, and wellness benefits.

Requirements:
  • Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at a time.
  • High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in employee benefits administration.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 Suite or similar software.
  • Associate or bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • Workday experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
