61st Street Service Corporation is looking for an experienced Benefits Specialist to assist with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k) plan. The ideal candidate must have a robust understanding of benefit regulatory requirements. Understanding and meeting expectations for the culture of service and incorporating those functions in the day-to-day responsibilities is expected for this role.
Responsibilities:
New Hire Process
- Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
- Monitor file interfaces for medical, dental and vision enrollments in ADP system.
- Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the ADP/Empyrean systems and works with vendors to ensure accurate eligibility information.
- Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
- Conducts new hire orientation and collects beneficiary enrollments.
- Responds to benefits inquiries from employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
- Run pre-& post benefits deductions reports to ensure accuracy of all benefits.
Healthcare Insurance
- Assist with annual open enrollment process.
- Reconciles weekly UHC/Surest Funding invoices.
- Process/Monitor terminations of all benefits selections; enter in 3rd party (BRI) website.
- Run terminations report to ensure all benefits are processed on a timely basis.
401k Retirement Plan Administration
- Submit bi-weekly 401k total controls in the plan sponsor site.
- Responds to 401(k) inquiries from employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts. Manages the annual catch-up contribution enrollment and loans entry.
- Process 401(k) entries for employer contributions and employee deferrals.
Other
- Supports the administration of the Wellness Program.
- Assists with special projects as requested by management.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Updates Flu Shots Bulletin – Annually
Qualifications:
Associate degree in HR or related field/ extensive related experience
Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, ADP systems.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
