Assistant Event Coordinator

Reports To: Event Manager
Based In: Cincinnati, Ohio
Type: Full-Time

Position Summary:

The Assistant Event Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the planning and execution of various events, such as weddings, corporate events, and other special occasions. The primary duties of this role include interacting with vendors and clients, setting up and breaking down event spaces, and attending client meetings. The Assistant Event Coordinator will work closely with the Event Coordinator to ensure that all aspects of the event are planned and executed seamlessly. Additionally, this role may involve coordinating with caterers and other service providers. The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent organizational skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment. They should also be able to multitask effectively.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Attend client meetings for events you will be working
  • Set up & break down event spaces, bars, kitchen and restrooms. See associated checklists
  • Prepare thorough event & staff reviews within the appropriate time frame.
  • Assist Event Coordinators and Bar Manager with all needs during and after events
  • Assist with barback duties when needed
  • Executing all events successfully to the high standards that our team has put in place
  • Professionally and positively interact with clients & vendors
  • Confidently take on the “point of contact” role during events, and manage those events for the duration once EM has departed
  • Attend weekly team meetings when necessary
  • Properly prepare & appropriately serve beverages to private event guests.
  • Communicate with the Event Coordinator following an event

Requirements:

  • Open availability including evenings, weekends and some holidays
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and appropriately stocked
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Interact with guests in a friendly, helpful, knowledgeable & confident manner
  • 2+ years of hospitality experience. Server/bartender experience is a plus!
  • Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude
  • Work as a team with all Rhinegeist event staff to ensure that every client & guest receives the best experience possible
  • Ability to remain calm and quickly solve problems in stressful situations
  • Properly & efficiently run bar service based on individual event needs
