The Ohio State University Center for Innovation Strategies (CIS) is an official academic center of The Ohio State University housed at the Fisher College of Business. CIS collaborates across campus and in the community as a facilitator and connector to promote innovation at Ohio State and beyond.
Our programs are designed to help our students and partners learn from academic and industry experts, engage with and influence the talent pipeline and connect with the broader innovation ecosystem.
The Center for Innovation Strategies is seeking a collaborative, team-oriented Event Coordinator to join its team. The Event Coordinator provides support and performs tasks and activities to ensure the efficient operation of the Center for Innovation Strategies. Reporting to the Director of Innovation Programs, Marketing and Outreach, the Event coordinator manages all event planning for board meetings, workshops, programs, special events, student events, summits, and the annual symposia. Responsibilities include organizing facilities and managing all event details such as invitations, catering, venue, registration, special guests, event implementation and post-event evaluation. Assists with the administrative and fiscal processes utilizing WorkDay, Microsoft Office applications, and other university-authorized software. The Event Coordinator will also assist with other activities to support the mission of the Center, including database management, member and stakeholder outreach, contract management, website/social media updates, creating reports, project management and other duties as assigned.
This position may require some work during evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
Associates degree or equivalent education/experience in business administration or related field of study. 2 years’ experience in event and program planning and implementation. Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Programs (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.) Demonstrated focus on quality and attention to detail. Proven ability to manage budgets and timelines effectively, strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a flexible and fast paced environment.
Desired Qualifications
Experience working with students in a university setting. Experience initiating fiscal requests in Workday. Knowledge of university administrative policies and procedures.
The target hiring range for this job profile is $18.61 - $24.81. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
