Job Description

Job Summary

The Area Sales Manager is a key role responsible for in market sales and developing new and growing existing business with distributors by overseeing operations, increasing sales and market penetration, effective go to market strategy, and executing relevant trade related marketing activities to build a strong foothold in the US.


Key Responsibilities

  • Implement marketing program with the distributors and/or a 3rd party agency.
  • Oversee and plan promotion activities effectively within agreed budget.
  • Manage distributors' orders and inventory assuring that orders are processed on time, stocks arrive in a timely manner and proper inventory and safety stock level is maintained to support market demand.
  • Assess distributors' market penetration and sales to ensure targets are met and adjust the plans as needed.
  • Ensure all accounts receivables are collected on time within the agreed payment terms.
  • Provide timely market intelligence, proposes annual budget (including A&P) and business plan with forecast, target revenue, profit, and budget.
  • Provide packaging label with the distributor in compliance with countries regulation.
  • Generate monthly progress reports that highlight distributors’ performances and needed improvements and appropriate corrective actions to achieve targets.
  • Establish and build strategic relationships and partnerships with various distributors and customers.
  • Deliver agreed target revenue, growth projection and profitability for assigned area, US (East)


Job Requirements

  • Good business acumen and understanding of target market and competitive environment.
  • Highly collaborative with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Goal-oriented and self-driven with strong sense of achievement and urgency to get things done.
  • Ability to travel more than 50% within and across multiple states and cities
  • 5-10 years of applicable experience in consumer goods distributor management and sales performance
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and Google equivalents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, intercultural, networking and negotiation skills.
  • Possess a Growth mindset.
  • Highly organized and ability to effectively manage multiple projects.
