What We Need
CEI, a wholly owned subsidiary of Element Fleet Management, is looking for an Appraiser, Quality Control who will play a critical part in engineering top-notch products and services in a unique industry and at a rapidly growing organization. You will be able to grow alongside North America’s best and brightest professionals in fleet accident, safety, and risk management.
Are you:
  • Consultative with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to improvise and articulate solutions?
  • Able to influence without authority and with professionalism?
You will be part of a team that audits all shop estimates for accuracy, cost control, and compliance with CEI’s operating procedures, generally accepted industry standards, client guidelines, and any/all application state regulations.
A Day in the Life
  • Document discussions with providers and complete workflow as necessary.
  • Negotiate as necessary with providers.
  • Utilize major estimating systems and related tools to perform estimate reviews.
  • Evaluate each estimate to ensure the scope of work is reasonable and in-line with actual physical damage applicable to the vehicle.
  • Suggest use of cost reduction alternatives, including use of aftermarket and like-kind-and-quality parts.
  • Ensure proposed labor hours are reasonable and in-line with the required scope of repair work.
  • Ensure labor rates charged by repair shops are fully in-line with prevailing industry labor rates.
  • Provide suggestions and tailored recommendations to customers.
  • Document all appropriate savings and or revisions.
  • Ensure repair cost estimates are managed in-line with our client guidelines and parameters.
  • Review photos submitted by repair facility and compare against estimate submitted.
Requirements
  • Physical Damage Appraiser license preferred
  • Skilled in computer estimating, nomenclature and procedures
  • 5 years of experience in body shop, either hands-on or estimating
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Familiar with repair times including judgment and book times
  • I-CAR certification preferred
  • Consultative customer experience preferred
