This role is within the Payments & Digital Strategy team within the American Airlines Credit Union. This role provides reporting, analysis, testing, changemanagement and other support critical to the development and management of debit, credit and prepaid card portfolios, checking accounts, and other emerging payment technologies.
What You'll Do
  • Process and validate invoices against available system and usage data to ensure third party billing and payments are accurate for services rendered
  • Use technology based solutions to suggest more efficient work flow processes and find proficient solutions
  • Provide change management coordination, and/or represents the department as a stakeholder on enterprise-level projects
  • Serve as a subject matter expert over assigned product offerings, data subjects, and or data systems related to the Payments and Digital Banking function
  • Complete all other duties as assigned
  • Develop logical recommendations around efficient work flows, reporting, process improvements, Policy & Procedure refinements, maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and laws, and network operating regulations
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Provide monthly budget variance reports, including the posting of necessary accruals and research of fluctuating balances
  • Communicate effectively regarding product, reporting, and data with all levels of the organization to achieve shared understanding and consensus
  • Prepare routine and standard reports to support various month end, quarterly, and department accounting reporting needs
  • Perform daily analysis of general ledger accounts to ensure accurate and timely funds movement; track trends month over month
  • Assist in the preparation, presentation and explanation of the Payments and Digital Strategy organization’s annual budget
  • Develop and create ad-hoc reports and business cases, to effectively help leadership solve business problems
  • Ensure consistency of each similar data element used across every report, analysis request, and business case

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
  • High school diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Experience in Payments, including but not limited to credit and/or debit card processing, electronic payments, emerging/faster payment networks, or other payments processing areas such as ACH/Share drafts exception processing
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business
  • Previous banking or Credit Union experience
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
  • Skilled in Symitar’s Epysis, Q2eBanking, Visa DPS systems, First Data and PSCU related systems
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance
  • Ability to self-motivate with strong organization skills, capacity for attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment under tight deadlines and high-volume pressure with minimal supervision
  • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical skills with the ability to research and analyze data with little guidance
  • Ability to be self-directed and comfortable with accepting ownership, responsibility and accountability of functional obligations
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software
  • Ability to pass applicable American Airlines and Credit Union pre-hire compliance checks
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines
