Job Description

The Economic Development Association for Black Communities (EDABC) is dedicated to creating an inclusive American economy. Based in Denver, CO, the EDABC helps communities and other economic development organizations to pursue inclusive plans, initiatives and actions for economic growth. Black communities face specific and unique challenges in our economies. The EDABC helps conduct the research, identify the opportunities, and promote the actions to overcome those challenges.


The Administrative & Community Manager is responsible for managing the schedules and communications of the organization’s key executives (Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operations Officer, and Chief Programs Officer). Their duties include prioritizing emails and phone calls, gathering documents to prepare for meetings and coordinating travel arrangements. The Administrative & Community Manager will also be responsible for representing EDABC to external stakeholders and community members.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining comprehensive and accurate records including spreadsheet management
  • Writing written communications including grant applications, executive summaries, and other information
  • Having initial navigation calls with potential members and partners of the EDABC
  • Organizing meetings, including scheduling, sending reminders, and organizing catering when necessary
  • Working with board members to provide full support for all aspects of board functions
  • Interacting with local Denver community on behalf of an organization, attending events, managing vendor tables, and attending community-organized meetings
  • Managing grant reporting requirements
  • Performing minor accounting duties
  • Answering phone calls in a polite and professional manner
  • Providing administrative assistance, such as writing and editing emails, drafting memos, and preparing communications on the executives’ behalf
  • Setting up and managing operational platforms, including but not limited to:HR/Payroll Site, Website, Google Suite, Email, Asana, Airtable, Social Media, ActiveCampaign, Membership enrollment process
  • Designing presentations in support of community engagement efforts
  • Assisting with social media management and marketing materials development
  • Managing the executives’ calendar, including making appointments and prioritizing the most sensitive matters
