Job Description

We are one of Michigan’s premier domestic relations law firms. Our boutique practice focuses on providing clients with exceptional customer service and extraordinary solutions to complex legal problems.

We are looking for a highly-motivated and well-organized individual, who possesses significant aptitude in working with up-to-date technology, and who is looking to build a career in the legal sector.

Our close-knit team works with a collaborative culture and at a fast pace on high-income, high-net worth, and financially complex divorces and matrimonial issues. With our “jump right in” mindset, team members are given projects to master and opportunities to grow, while working with and learning from some of the best and brightest professionals in the industry.

As a legal/administrative assistant, a typical day might include the following:

·Monitoring and maintaining attorneys’ calendars;

·Providing administrative support to lawyers and paralegals;

·Generating legal documents and correspondence;

·Managing and organizing documents using document management software/electronic filing system;

·Scheduling of court hearings, depositions, and other meetings;

·Communicating with lawyers, clients, experts, and other individuals involved in a case;

·Answering telephones;

·Responding to email;

·Facilitating the meeting of deadlines by overseeing multiple agendas and providing timely reminders;

·Filing documents in various courts;

·Preparing for trial/hearings by organizing exhibits and assisting with other related tasks;

·Processing third party and vendor invoices;

·Transmitting legal correspondence/documents to clients, witnesses, and court officials by electronic filing, mail,

email, or messenger;

·Making travel arrangements for attorneys as needed;

·Attending telephone, Zoom, and office conferences to address client issues;

·Tracking discovery and organizing the production and receipt of financial information;

·Creating the end deliverables for clients or other lawyers (subpoenas, discovery requests, mediation

summaries, financial analyses, letters, and motions);

·Developing, implementing, and maintaining firm knowledge base and automation software; and

·Occasional Transcription.


Qualifications:

·Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint);

·Strong analytical, verbal, technical, and written skills;

·Superior communication and interpersonal skills;

·Willingness to adapt to and learn technology, software programs and upgrades;

·Ability to communicate and handle stressful situations in a professional, calm, courteous manner;

·Willingness to work in a team-oriented service environment and provide excellent services;

·Ability to problem-solve and arrange workload in order of importance to meet deadlines;

·Exhibit a desire to be a team player by demonstrating willingness to undertake additional responsibilities and

assist others;

·Must be eligible to work in the US, without employer sponsorship, at the time of hire and in the future.
