A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT


As an Administrative Assistant in human services, you play an essential role in serving as the face of our nonprofit. You warmly greet each visitor and capture daily participant attendance. Using our Fedcap CARES system, you run reports and use that data to plan daily tasks. You answer and direct calls, scheduling appointments for participants as needed. You also conduct calls or mail outreach letters to program participants who've missed appointments, orientation, or other activities.


In addition, you collect and timestamp documentation provided by program participants. You mark participant attendance for internal and external activities as well as identify and order needed office supplies. If you need to step away, you ensure the reception area is covered to greet guests and answer phones. You always maintain a positive and professional demeanor to make participants and visitors feel welcome. Your hard work and hospitality keep our customers satisfied with our nonprofit, and it brings you great fulfillment to know you serve in such an important role!


Qualifications For An Administrative Assistant


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated track record for providing exceptional customer service
  • Valid driver's license
