The essential job responsibilities of the Administrative Assistant 3 are to provide confidential intermediate-level executive administrative / secretarial assistance to the Vice President, CFO & Secretary- Treasurer, Vice President & General Counsel, and Board of Commissioners; handle internal / external complaints, requests and inquiries; refer questions to other departments when needed; and prepare office reports.

Qualifications

Qualification Requirements:
To perform the Administrative Assistant 3 role, you must:
  • Have a High School diploma or General Education Development (G.E.D) plus 2 years of college or business school with a major in Office Administration or related area and a minimum of 4 years experience as a Secretary; or a minimum of 8 years experience as a Secretary; or Associate degree in Legal Administrative Support with 4 years of legal secretarial experience or high school diploma or General Education Development (G.E.D.) with 8 years of legal secretarial experience in the General Counsel Division only

-Have successfully completed appropriate Clerical / Secretarial and Training Programs for promotional progression -Demonstrate dictaphone experience depending on needs of specific Vice President -Have knowledge of legal terminology and judicial system depending on assigned Division -Have a valid driver's license from state of residence -Reside and maintain residence in Shelby County, TN within 6 months from hire date.

Physical Working Conditions:
Works in office under good conditions. Subject to occasional kneeling, bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, light lifting and standiing for long periods of time while filing and obtaining office supplies; and occasional eye fatigue and sitting for long periods of time while working on computer.
