Accounts Payable Team Lead

Searching for and AP Team Lead that will assist with vendor maintenance, payment processing and bringing payable invoice discrepancies to resolution. The position is responsible for daily documentation of Key Performance Indicators for the team, training and onboarding new staff, 1099 preparation, and working with other departments for urgent inquiry resolution. In addition, this position will assist in supervising 4-6 AP Team members.

What You Will Be Doing

• Ensure internal controls are being followed.
• Investigate and respond to urgent vendor inquiries in a timely manner. Escalate issues as needed.
• Supervise AP Team progress and provide feedback to Department Manager.
• Schedule, prepare and distribute accounts payable checks & electronic payments.
• Monitor and document Key Performance Indicators
• Prepare payable reports
• Reconcile vendor statements resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies.
• Support and participate in external audit.
• Assist with onboarding new vendors.
• Perform other miscellaneous tasks as needed.

• Strong full cycle payables knowledge.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task and be flexible in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and other departments and vendors.
• Have a proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook. (Syteline, NetSuite a plus)
• Ability to be an effective team member and display teamwork and initiative.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to use good decision-making and critical thinking skills when resolving problems.
• Experience working in an end-to-end automated payables platform such as Medius, Tiplati or Coupa.
• Ability to correspond and speak effectively and professionally with vendors and management.
• Eye for detail and accuracy is imperative.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as vendor invoices, instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to identify, propose and implement process improvement.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This position will assist in supervising 4-6 AP Team members.
