Under the direction of the Business Manager, the Accounts Payable Specialist will perform a variety of accounting duties in support of assigned School accounts payable and functions. The Accounts Payable Specialist will monitor the outflow of capital for the School and will handle the financial processing of transactions. Duties include daily bookkeeping, record keeping, financial reporting, and the preparation of records for financial audits. The Accounts Payable Specialist will also reconcile and verify invoices.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complies with the School’s policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. E
- Facilitates payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviews purchase orders, and resolves discrepancies. E
- Receives and verifies expense reports. E
- Calculates and reports sales tax based on paid invoices. E
- Reconciles expenses and other financial reports with account balances and other official records. E
- Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions. E
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ensures outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed. E

Education and Licenses:
- Graduation from high school/GED. Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related area preferred
- Must possess a valid California Driver’s License
- Minimum of 6 months of invoicing experience or work experience in a Charter School Independent Study setting, preferred
