Program Overview

WIM Early Careers Programs seeks to attract, develop, and retain exceptional Sophomore and Junior undergraduate students through our Diverse Pathways Initiative, leading to careers in Banking & Financial Advising.

The Wealth & Investment Management (WIM) Banking & Financial Advising Summer Intern Program is ideal for current undergraduates interested in working in a collaborative environment which is focused on personal and professional development.

Participants will have the opportunity to understand the day-to-day responsibilities of a full-time employee and will gain comprehensive professional and industry experience. Over the course of ten weeks, participants will gain exposure to senior leaders, participate in a community service project, and benefit from coaching and performance feedback sessions. WIM Interns will also participate in a learning series and complete a cross-program group project with fellow interns across Wells Fargo University Programs.

Available positions will be aligned with several Wells Fargo Advisor Markets to experience mentorship under Market Leaders and Financial Advisor teams. In these roles, program participants gain a deeper knowledge of the financial services industry through hands-on experience in the fields of investment management, financial analytics, project management, consulting, and more focused in a client-facing environment.

The 2024 WIM Banking & Financial Advising Summer Intern Program experience is designed to assist participants in identifying a long-term career at Wells Fargo. After successfully completing the summer program, interested interns may be considered to pursue roles such as the Premier Banking Associate Program or other new financial advisor programs.

In This Role, You Will

• Lead or participate in projects or support activities, which are moderate in size and organization span.
• Interact with leaders at all levels of the organization including senior management, direct team members, individual contributors, and vendors.
• Understand processes and workflows to make recommendations for process improvements.
• Understand business needs and provide possible solutions by explaining in clear verbal and/or written communications to customers and/or management.
• Provide customer service to clients and internal employees as needed and appropriate.
• Bring closure to issues, questions, and requests. Solve problems independently.
• Consistently learn new systems, applications, processes, and techniques.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ months of work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications

• Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
• Knowledge and understanding of financial services industry
• Completion of coursework in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Communications, English, or related field - all majors are welcome to apply
• Bachelor's degree candidate with an expected graduation between December 2024 - May 2026
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
• Experience successfully collaborating with others in a change driven environment

Job Expectations

• Ability to travel 5% or more of the time

Program Duration

Full-time schedule, 10 weeks (non-rotational). Program Dates: June 2024 - August 2024

Program Location

Multiple intern positions will be available nationally across our Wells Fargo Advisors landscape. The locations are determined by business need and participants will be hosted in Markets with other interns. Past intern placements have included: Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Charlotte, NC; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Los Angeles, CA; Miami, FL; New York City, NY; Philadelphia, PA; San Francisco, CA; and St. Louis, MO.
