Experience deploying Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies

Supervise, coach, and develop Electro-Mechanical & Industrial Engineering Technicians, Industrial Engineers, and Training support roles.

Experience in distribution, logistics, project management preferred

Innovate, implement and manage cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas of moderate scope.

Develop, implement and manage plans to support warehousing/logistics operations. Designs operations layouts.

3-5 years of engineering experience required

Improves production flow and presentation.

Monitors, compiles and reports Key Performance Initiative (KPI).

SAP experience is a HUGE asset

Maintaining a clean and organized work area

Helping to produce presentation samples(mock-ups) for approval using the Kongsberg sample table and Epson prints from the graphic design department

Creating CAD drawings for the Estimation department, providing pallet patterns using the TOPS program (palletizing software)

Packaging school or industrial design background ideally

Someone who is creative and willing to learn

Experience in the development, maintenance, and implementation of a management observation and accountability programs.

Additional responsibilities include partnering with Continuous Improvement Team and DC Operations to provide cross functional project support.

Experience with work measurement, standard data, and predetermined time systems and tools with an emphasis on time study expertise.

Well versed in team education, training, and facilitation of engineering principles.

Experience with providing coaching, and direction to team members.

Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification preferred.

Knowledge of OSHA requirements that affect facility design

Develop equipment lists and schedules that include utility and other facility requirements.

Ability and interest to respond to and research unique problems and requirements

Develop equipment layouts and required utility services for both contractor supplied and owner furnished industrial and maintenance equipment.

Facilitate and generally enhance communication between users and design team.

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or other related Engineering discipline

· Knowledge in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint – Intermediate to Advance level preferred

· Knowledge of AutoCAD – Intermediate to Advance level preferred

· Good interpersonal skills including ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturally to analyze and solve problems

· Good written and oral communication skills necessary for meetings and presentations

· Knowledge of work measurement and work standards

· Experience in manufacturing environment

Preferred skills in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Lean and solid root cause analysis and problem solving.

Experience with TPM implementation, LEAN tools, Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt

Maintain accurate catalogue of process, product and packaging capabilities relevant to leveraging existing platforms for growth

What would be your key responsibilities?

Proven success in loss elimination through UPS or Kaizen methodologies

Responsible for the preparation and management of the Facilities Engineering Operating Budget for Roanoke.

Independently works on projects or process improvements when tasked by upper management.

Assist with ISE undergraduate student programming

Assist with the maintenance of the ISE UG Canvas course

Provide coverage of the ISE front desk as needed

2+ years’ experience managing and developing people

5+ years’ experience with Lean Principles, Systems, and Tools

2+ years’ experience facilitating Kaizen/Problem Solving events, as well as Lean training courses

2+ years’ experience leading large cross functional teams toward a shared vision or strategy

5+ years’ experience in the Medical Device Industry

Lean or Six Sigma Certification

Develops Industrial Engineers knowledge of labor standards. Utilizes labor standards and operational performance matrix to direct process improvement focus.

10+ years’ Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering Experience.

5+ years’ experience within a Supply Chain Distribution Fulfillment environment.

A seasoned people manager in a matrixed and distributed organization.

Proven track record of successfully achieving priorities, accomplishing objectives, and elevating the engineering capabilities of an organization.
