Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) has an exciting opportunity for a First-Line Industrial Engineering Leader to support the Industrial Engineering (IE) team in Salt Lake City, Utah.

As an Industrial Engineering First-Line Leader in Salt Lake you will be working together closely with Operations leaders and other stakeholders in a composite and metal fabrication factory environment as well as major structures assembly. The Salt Lake IE team you will be leading provides a critical role in helping Operations manage the production system - on a daily basis and improving processes for into the future.

Position responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing industrial engineering activities associated with technical development, implementation, analysis and improvement activities throughout the business units.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Development and implementation of plans, policies and procedures in alignment with business plans, strategies, goals, and objectives.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.
  • Acquires and coordinates resources for projects and processes and provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with customers, stakeholders, suppliers, peers, partners and direct reports.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualification (Required Skills and Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in Operations/Industrial Engineering
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 1+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and /or informal leadership role

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Use of Systematic Problem Solving
  • Experience in identifying opportunities to improve work-related products and processes within own work group, project or process and engaging and empowering employees to make process improvements.
  • Experience with developing and implementing the Boeing Production System
  • Experience establishing partnerships and relationships with internal customers, stakeholders, peers and direct reports and conveying organizational messages to facilitate the accomplishment of work group, project or process goals.
  • Advanced computer skills with proficiency in MS Office including PowerPoint and Excel.
