Medical Interpreter - Spanish/English - Full Time

Unit: Community Hospital Division

Location: Anschutz Inpatient

Work Schedule: 1.0/80hrs. pp - Full Time - Days

• Minimum Experience: 2 years of medical interpretation. Spanish/English.

Summary:

Provides medical interpretation for patients, staff and guests who are non-English speaking, deaf, or hard of hearing, to help communication with healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Complies with all privacy and confidentiality policies when communicating patient information.
• Acts as a conduit between patient and/or guest and healthcare professional for communication in the patient's preferred language.
• May translate written documentation.
• Accurately interprets medical terminology, including but not limited to anatomy, prescriptions, and procedures.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

• Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED. Completion of medical interpretation competency test.
• Minimum Experience: 2 years of medical interpretation. Spanish/English.

The pay range for this position is: $20.87 - $27.13 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
