1 year experience in Plastic Industry with QC of BOPP Plant

Knowledge of all instruments, functions and calibration of equipment

One (1) year previous experience in similar Quality Assurance lab.

Under the direction of the Quality Assurance Supervisor, performs evaluations of ingredients and products in various stages of production.

Obtains samples of ingredients/product at regular intervals.

Evaluates the samples: weight, color, bake, etc.

Routinely makes recommendations for processing.

Originate and maintain accurate records.

Read test results and notify Lab Management of results that are out of specification;

Reporting and evaluating results and data entry using Labware (LIMS);

Knowledge of chemistry and analytical chemistry fundamentals as related to quality control;

Strong functional and technical skills, strong analytical instrumentation background in quality control and in a production environment;

Excellent written and oral communication skills;

Good organizational skills and great attention to detail;

Responsible for understanding and implementing the Food Safety and Quality Management System and related activities, including SQF standards:

Meet Skill Level Requirements as determined by Quality Leadership.

Off-site Co-Manufacturer and Supplier auditing skills.

Preferred education: Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or science related college level courses.

Expected experience: 2+ years in a manufacturing environment, including employee training.

Must pass the Quality Control Lab Technician Minimum Qualifications Test..

Must have or be willing to develop a good working knowledge of personal computers.

Perform, analyze, and document standard quality control tests and procedures on raw materials.

Perform, analyze, and document standard quality control tests and procedures on production batches and finished products.

Inspect and recommend approval or rejection of incoming raw materials.

Demonstrated knowledge or experience in:

Conduct qualitative and quantitative testing of beverages, syrups, and raw materials throughout the entire production process.

Analyze syrup beverage and/or water attributes

Audit container rinsers, air blowers, filters, and coders to ensure proper operations.

Conduct package quality inspection and quality audits and isolate product that does not meet standards.

Maintain highest possible housekeeping standards to prevent microbial contamination

Education and/or Experience and Skills

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with 2-4 years’ experience or an associate degree

Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company commitments, policies, and compliance requirements

Responsible for operating in conformance with the ISO certification held by the Phenix City facility.

Computer skills are essential (MS Office).

Must have strong facilitation skills

Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls according to a set procedure.

Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.

Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.

Requires extensive walking through out shift.

Acknowledge and process all quality documentation regarding production.

Support all activities of QC in the absence of the manager (calibrations, staffing, product decisions,etc.)

Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

1-5 years quality control experience

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position

Possess strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge and skills

Two (2) years' experience in quality control in an aggregate or construction environment

Possess effective coordination, interpersonal and communication skills

Able to obtain state certification

Possess basic computer skills & able to learn new software

Recognize and report potential quality problems to management

Analyze retrieved data and prepare reports for laboratory management

Sample submission activities, including shipment of samples

Organize chemicals/reagents in the Laboratory, in designated area

Clean Laboratory Glassware and organize the glassware in designated racks

Clean work benches in the Laboratory and organize the lab benches

Receive chemicals/reagents and assign the Expiration dates as per the SOP and keep organized

Keep the Laboratory working area clean

Removes laboratory waste from the respective bins

Demonstrated skills entering, retrieving, and manipulating data in a Quality Management System and Microsoft based software.

Effectively communicate quality findings with team members from plant personnel to management.

Maintain integrity of the quality management system (QMS) and ensure compliance.

Familiarity with Quality Management systems and understanding of its application to manufacturing processes.

Associates Degree or Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or other science based degree program, and/or combination of education and experience.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database.
