Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: To perform testing and inspection on product, as well as, packaging per quality control program and to operate beverage processing equipment.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES: The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The actual duties required of this position will vary.
  • Perform, analyze, and document standard quality control tests and procedures on production batches and finished products.
  • Utilize analytical and troubleshooting skills to assist production and/or maintenance personnel regarding process applications to ensure conformance to established standards and specifications.
  • Perform in-process QC inspections to evaluate conformance with established standards, including routine batch and weight audits.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed quality assurance documentation in accordance with established department standards.
  • Inspect and recommend approval or rejection of incoming raw materials.
  • Perform, analyze, and document standard quality control tests and procedures on raw materials.
  • Maintain and perform regular updates to Quality database.
  • Maintain Lab areas and equipment.
  • Operate mechanical and electronic equipment as required in connection with testing and production procedures.
  • Must have the ability to size formulations as necessary or adjust existing batches due to over-pulls or other needed requirements, in accordance with production, lab, or other departmental needs.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION:
  • Good understanding of basic math and units of weight and measure.
  • Must exhibit good judgement in making quick and decisive decisions to assure the overall quality of the product.
  • Must pass the Quality Control Lab Technician Minimum Qualifications Test..
  • Must have High School degree or GED. Basic chemistry background is helpful but not essential.
  • Must have good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to understand basic mechanical concepts as fluid handling and the use of piping, valves, and pumps.
  • Must have or be willing to develop a good working knowledge of personal computers.
