Purchase order creation and updates

Assist in the management of administration of Dept procurement of supplies and services.

Familiarity with administrative processing of purchase orders and understanding of public procurement .

Prepares and approves documents such as state requisitions, leases, maintenance agreements, purchase and check requests.

Conducts market and product research and costs analysis.

Analyzes vendor terms and conditions and revises to ensure compliance with state regulations.

Assists in the developing and recommends various operational policies and procedures within the framework of state purchasing rules and regulations.

Specialized Skills: Knowledge or certifications unique to this role

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Proven experience in procurement, accounting, vendor management or a related financial role

Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management - CPSM) are a strong plus.

Proficiency in contract management and/or software and tools

Orchestrates a seamless convergence of business managers and the accounting and legal departments in relation to procurement processes

5+ years of procurement experience

· Lead and coordinate project buys with engineering & project managers across all projects.

· 3-5 years of experience in procurement, including 1+ year of expediting or logistics

· Experience in using data-centric procurement software

Knowledge of procurement systems in an engineering and construction environment

· Effective written and verbal communication skills

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Assists with supplier selection and onboarding, including competitive bidding, supplier negotiations and vendor management activities.

Two (2) years experience in procurement/sourcing. More advanced degrees may offset experience requirements.

Knowledge of business software, spreadsheet applications.

Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Recent graduate with Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or at least 2 years of related field experience

Understanding of procurement and sourcing functions, including: RFQ; PO Management; supply/demand planning; and vendor selection & management.

Order Tracking: Monitor and manage open purchase orders, proactively communicating with suppliers to ensure on-time receipt of goods.

Strong analytical and decision-making skills

Experience with global manufacturing companies a plus.

Data Analysis: Assist in data analysis to support informed procurement decisions, identify cost-saving opportunities, and enhance overall procurement efficiency.

3-5+ years of supply chain management, sourcing, maintenance and/or public procurement
