Overview A Marine Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of all types of marine vessels and related equipment. They are responsible for ensuring the safety and efficiency of the vessel, as well as the safety of the crew and passengers. They must be knowledgeable in all areas of marine engineering, including propulsion, electrical, and mechanical systems. Detailed Job Description A Marine Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of all types of marine vessels and related equipment. They must be knowledgeable in all areas of marine engineering, including propulsion, electrical, and mechanical systems. They must be able to diagnose and repair any problems that may arise with the vessel. They must be able to troubleshoot and repair any mechanical, electrical, or propulsion systems. They must be able to read and interpret technical drawings and diagrams. They must be able to inspect and maintain all safety equipment on board the vessel. They must be able to operate and maintain all navigational and communication systems. They must be able to provide technical advice and guidance to the crew and passengers. Job Skills Required• Knowledge of marine engineering principles and practices
• Knowledge of propulsion, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and diagrams
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and propulsion systems
• Ability to inspect and maintain safety equipment

Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or related field
• Relevant certifications and licenses
• 5+ years of experience in marine engineering
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
