ManTech is seeking an Analyst (Marine Corps) to provide professional contractor support to assist in the planning and execution of the Marine Corps’ Force Design 2030 contract.


The Experiment Division plans, executes, and analyzes the results of concept-based live force experiments in order to inform the Deputy Commandant, Combat Development & Integration, requirements process, and the efforts of other organizations to advance Marine Corps capabilities. Results include assessments of emerging concepts, development of new and innovative tactics, and recommended enhancements to current and future organizational structures and training. As such, this division requires personnel with significant knowledge and experience within the operational force. Personnel will interact directly with senior leaders and planners at the Battalion/Squadron level and higher.


This position requires an active DoD TS/SCI Clearance.


General Responsibilities


  • Develop Marine Corps inputs to OSD Scenarios and Support to Strategic Analysis (SSA)
  • Coordinate distribution and preparation of analytical products; presenting concepts to senior audiences
  • Develop and provide lifecycle management to Marine Corps, Naval, USSOCOM, joint, multinational and other service concepts
  • Research and present on Marine Corps concepts, plans, capabilities, and equities by studying experiments, wargames, capabilities-based assessments, and published documents
  • Be prepared to travel as required to support all planning, coordination, and experimentation events as required; travel up to 25%
  • Research, draft, edit, design, produce, and facilitate the publication of Marine Corps, naval, joint, and multinational strategic analysis documents
  • Develop analytical concept papers/plans
  • Develop an iterative and interactive relationship throughout CD&I and the Deputy Commandants to facilitate capability development
  • Provide liaison and integration with Joint Staff J7, Army Capabilities Integration Center, Fleet Forces Command, Naval Warfare Development Command and MARFORCOM
  • Research, develop, review, and edit Marine Corps doctrine and incorporate findings, recommendations, and inputs into experimentation efforts
  • Research and deliver concept papers, presentation briefings, and written recommendations to senior USMC leadership
  • Help stakeholders identify and prioritize requirements and tasking
  • Review drafts to verify validated concepts and service equities have been incorporated


Minimum Requirements


  • 10+ years of experience working with the military
  • BA/BS degree from a four-year university or an equivalent combination of education and experience in related field
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Demonstrated experience in program / project leadership
  • Outstanding initiative, organizational skills, team-oriented mindset and ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, diverse, and virtual team environment
  • US Citizen
  • Experience with classified program environments for government and industry
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of the Marine Corps, its missions, force structure, existing doctrine, and emerging Marine Corps Warfighting Concepts
  • Proven ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) is critical, as is the ability to professionally prepare and present analytical documents for senior military and defense officials
  • Strong computer skills including demonstrated fluency in all Microsoft programs, to include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint


Strongly Desired


  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Graduate of the School of Advanced Warfighting or service level equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience working in a dynamic, high-stress, tactical/operational environment
  • 15+ years' experience within the USMC serving in various planning capacities
  • Master’s degree from a four-year university or an equivalent combination of education and experience in related field
  • Staff experience at the Regiment, Division, MEF or HQMC levels
  • Experience as a Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) Planner
