Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Marine Structural Engineer. As a key member of our marine engineering division, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the design, analysis, and implementation of marine structures and waterfront projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to develop their skills in marine structural engineering.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES

Structural Design: Assist in the design and analysis of marine structures, such as piers, wharves, jetties, docks, bulkheads and coastal protection systems.

Engineering Calculations: Perform engineering calculations, including structural analysis, load calculations, and foundation design, to ensure the structural integrity and safety of marine projects.

Technical Drawings: Develop and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications in coordination with in-house CAD designers. and ensure compliance with industry standards and codes.

Project Support: Collaborate with senior engineers to provide support in project coordination, including conducting site visits, assisting with construction supervision, and resolving technical issues.

Structural Assessments: Participate in structural assessments and inspections of existing marine structures, identifying potential issues, and recommending appropriate repair and maintenance measures.

Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and project documentation to effectively communicate design concepts, analysis results, and recommendations.

Quality Assurance: Ensure that all design work complies with relevant regulations, codes, and industry standards, while adhering to quality assurance and quality control procedures.

  • QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree in Marine Engineering or a relevant specialization is a plus.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in structural analysis software (such as SAP2000, Staad.Pro, or similar), CAD software (AutoCAD or similar), and Microsoft Office Suite.

Knowledge: Familiarity with structural engineering principles and design standards specific to marine and offshore structures, including relevant codes such as AISC, ACI, and API.

Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors.

Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to address engineering challenges and propose innovative solutions.

Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to work, ensuring accuracy in calculations, drawings, and documentation.

Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, supporting senior engineers and coordinating with colleagues on multi-disciplinary projects.

Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, software, and project requirements.
