Clean and store properly all pots, pans, and other utensils.

Clean sink and pots area after every shift.

Wash and store all dishes, glassware and silverware properly.

Interview all prospective final candidates for any vacant management position within the hotel prior to any offer being extended.

Maintain direct contact with and monitor the development of management trainees.

Perform other duties as requested by management.

Hold a monthly financial review with all department managers, M.I.D.'s and available supervisors.

Develop managers for future advancement through competency training and corporate sponsored training programs.

Adhere to all Highgate Hotel policies and procedures and train new managers to ensure compliance.

Knowledge of menu and basic ingredients in food items including allergy awareness.

Basic knowledge of food items, cleaning practices and simple food preparation.

Oral and written communication skills.

1 year food service experience.

Reports maintenance deficiencies to maintenance and/or the General Manager.

Cleans public areas including the lobby, lobby restrooms, banquet rooms, gymnasium, elevators, hallways, entries, stairwells, cart rooms, guest laundry, etc.

Delivers items to guest rooms when requested.

Stocks and maintains supply rooms, as needed.

Performs deep cleaning tasks and special projects, as needed.

Assists in cleaning guest rooms, as needed.

GED, high school diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience

Two years of work experience

Railroad or other relevant industry experience is a plus

Observe, interpret, and relay arm, lantern or radio signals and all other indications affecting movement of a train

Read and understand the book of rules, timetables, bulletins, train orders, waybills, placards, safety instructions, and other written or printed material

Prepare required daily reports and switch lists, either manually or with a computer; fill out forms, including train orders

Computer literate to thoroughly operating property management systems: post charges, compute bills, collect payments, and make changes.

Execute selling strategies to enhance hotel revenue. Understands and implements the mission statement, values, and culture at all times.

Multi-task, detail-oriented, and remain service-centric.

Communicate with guests, and co-workers, receive and transmit mail, phone, and written messages and relay pertinent information using log books.

Assist with guest issues with professionalism in maintaining a hospitable attitude.

Computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet, and familiarity with brand specific property Management System(s).

Manage in compliance with established company policies and procedures and local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Ability to use analytical skills for measuring business potential and value to the hotel.

Monitor the performance of the hotel through verification and analysis of guest satisfaction systems and monthly financial reports. Initiate corrective action.

Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management or Business preferred.

HVAC experience and knowledge prefered

Previous hospitality maintenance experience preferred

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Manage differing personalities within the office, the hotel, and the community

Maintains complete knowledge of hotel amenities and layout, local attractions, and airport transportation.

Demonstrates thorough knowledge of all emergency procedures.

Ensures that all checklists and responsibilities are completed by the end of shift.

Maintain lobby, front door, bell stand, and luggage room cleanliness and order. Markets the entire hotel when rooming a guest.

Keeps up-to-date on in-house groups and functions. Follows all rooming procedures.

2-5 years prior hotel experience

Experience in outside sales calls and prospecting

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong computer skills including Hotel PMS, Microsoft Office
