Direct Patient Liaison Jobs

Prior experience in patient education, clinical setting, pharmacy, community health education, and/or pharmaceutical/biotech industry is a plus

Helping synthetize educational opportunities identified within patient community across your geography.

Supporting patient advocacy at local patient community events and in the delivery of approved educational materials.

Identifying patient and caregiver educational gaps and insights that help inform the refinement and development patient education resources.

Working with and informing cross functional partners, in educational unmet needs and challenges collected from patient insights.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience functioning in a concierge/liaison role or equivalent role required.

Serving as liaison between Cedars-Sinai specialty programs and patients.

Accompanying patients to appointments and visiting patients while in the hospital. Aiding in navigating CSMC systems and processes

Ensuring that all non-clinical needs (e.g., language, diet, religion, cultural tourism/accommodations) are being arranged.

Managing the post-discharge process for patients, including providing packaged medical reports, physician instructions and discharge prescriptions.

Responsible to adhere to all patient services protocols and ensure charting is completed in appropriate applications.

Assist with referrals and referral management

Appointment reminder calls and review of benefit coverage with patients

Answer inquiries and schedule medical appointments for people who are considering fertility treatment

Screen inquiries appropriately to help create satisfied new patients

Experience demonstrating exceptional communication, listening, and presentation skills

Knowledge & Skill Sets Desired:

Manage annual budget to prioritize commitments and meet the needs of assigned regional CBOs.

Effectively maintain administrative responsibilities, i.e... expense report (Concur), budget tracker, activity tracker, Centris (initiating & closing a program), PAL team calendar.

Minimum 5-7 years pharmaceutical industry or related experience -preferably in Rare Disease

Experience in responsible business practices and compassionate communication both written and spoken

Leading a field-based team of Patient and community education liaisons, helping to motivate, set objectives and manage performance for each individual

Prior experience in patient education, clinical setting, community health education, and/or pharmaceutical/biotech industry with experience managing high performing teams

Demonstrated communication skills, including ability to deliver and present educational materials to patient community.

Helping synthetize educational opportunities identified across US geographies to engage with patient community.

Supporting patient advocacy at local patient community events and conferences and in delivery of approved educational materials.

Identifying unique patient engagement opportunities beyond educational presentations, congresses, ad boards, and round table discussions.

$40- $49/hr based on experience

In addition to educational requirements, a minimum of five (5) years of similar experience with coordination of patient tests and visits

Knowledge of record keeping, data management, and computer databases

Strong organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage competing priorities

General familiarity with requirements of clinical protocols and knowledge of special ambulatory care regulations

Experience and competency with the following Microsoft Office products: Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint

Knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of clinical operations in order to provide adequate patient care arrangements

Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Must be detail oriented and possess excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.

Must organize and maintain the clinic and surgical schedules for physicians and advanced nurse practitioners.

Must work collaboratively with nursing staff and physicians to ensure all diagnostic coding is properly recorded.

Maintains surgical procedure spreadsheet and other scheduling documentation.

Must be proficient in ICD -10 and CPT coding.

Good computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e Word, Outlook, Excel, etc)

Uses company knowledge to inform patients regarding services they are eligible for

Good written and verbal communication skills

Make outbound calls to patients and prospective patients

Makes calls to doctor’s offices, nursing homes, and hospitals to retrieve necessary information for referrals

Updates team spreadsheets and reports with call outcomes

Assist with referrals and referral management

Rare disease experience a plus

Experience with long-term communication and support of patients/caregivers

Requires interpersonal and communications skills to effectively work with diverse groups of vendors and customers

Requires excellent organizational/administrative skills, flexibility and the ability to get things done

Highly effective verbal and written communication skills to coordinate/provide information and care to patients and families

Highly effective interpersonal skills necessary to interact with patients, insurance companies and co-workers

Requires basic computer skills and the ability to use online calendars, email and components of Microsoft Office and Excel
