Gis Systems Analyst Jobs in Iowa

Analyze incoming data from different sources for the production of maps, tables, graphs and reports.

Produce custom hard copy maps, websites, tables, graphs and reports for customer and inter-departmental use.

Provide training and recommendations on the use of GIS in order to improve efficiency and functionality throughout the organization.

Maintain and update GIS databases.

Perform data analysis and create information/map products from the GIS related software and sub systems.

Digitizes maps and plats for tax maps. Creates plats in a digital world.

Other tasks as necessary and feasible, if the analyst is available

Strong background in GIS systems, either ArcGIS or QGIS

Masters’ degree or higher (or currently working towards a Masters’ degree) in relevant discipline

Capable of coordinating large data sets and offering detailed explanations related to findings.

Have effective administrative and organizational abilities.

Strong presentation and communication skills, both oral and written.

Experience working with Smartsheet is a plus

Performs technical quality review of geospatial information to determine completeness, and accuracy, relative to specified standards.

Will perform mapping and tracking inspection scheduling for asbestos sites using ARC GIS

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills paired with a desire to take initiative to grow our team’s visualization capabilities

Experience with ArcPro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS enterprise, Python, Tableau, PowerBI, and/or Qlick tools and technologies

Knowledge of agile software development

Work collaboratively with a multi-functional, dynamic, multi-disciplinary team to help design and support the implementation of innovative GIS analysis and applications.

Assist with developing solutions to complex problems using an array of modern, cloud-based IT, data, and GIS tools and technologies.

US Citizen or Permanent Lawful Resident (Green Card Holder).

Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience; minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience with Master’s degree.

Experience developing ArcGIS Server services.

Experience developing python scripts for geoprocessing.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience supporting government contracts or federal work experience

Experience supporting USDA and/or rural development

Customer driven with good oral and written communications skills and general analytical, problem solving and project management skills.

Monitor and coordinate activities to support operational performance management (e.g., safety, reliability, service level, productivity, etc.).

Minimum of 2 year experience in Gas or Electric Utility GIS systems.

Can multi-task and manage inflow from data updates in GIS.

Provide statistical information to ensure the most effective utilization of personnel, equipment and/or materials for business operations.

Track, maintain, analyze and provide current information on the operation's business scorecard or key performance indicators (KPIs).
