This is an opportunity to join an emerging Investment Management firm founded by well-known, accomplished investment professionals in San Francisco. The Client Investment Analyst will provide analytical investment support related to the firm’s ultra-high net worth clients.
The Analyst position supports a team that coordinates investment, planning, and advice across a range of areas including: portfolio construction, risk management, cash flow planning, diversification, tax analysis, philanthropic planning, balance sheet reporting, and other important aspects of clients’ financial lives.
In addition to excellent analytical skills, the right candidate will demonstrate outstanding attention to detail, resourcefulness, and thoughtful presentation of complex analytics.
A strong work ethic, a self-starter and a positive attitude are essential. In addition, the ideal candidate would have an interest and aptitude in financial investment topics and be able to balance their technical knowledge with strong presentation and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support team to become subject matter experts as well as external advisors (e.g., tax, legal, real estate, lending, etc.) to problem solve and drive successful outcomes for clients
- Work closely with the Client Investment Team and clients to support the investment advisory process and all areas of client engagement
- Coordinate and collaborate to deliver portfolio reporting and ad hoc analysis driven by client requests
- Work with Client Investment Team to engage with families to add value to our clients
- Tackle requests that may be outside of the job description
- Support strategic financial and investment advice across a client’s entire balance sheet, including opportunities sourced through the clients’ network, Point Olema’s Funds and liquid investments
- Project management from start to finish and coordinate with multiple parties (internal + external) to drive a successful outcome
- Support strategic conversations around client engagement
- Financial planning and forward modeling of client balance sheets
- Support the strategy to assist with determining the best portfolio implementation given a client’s fact pattern and working closely with the investment team support the execution and ongoing maintenance
Requirements:
- Superior Analytical skills, including experience with Excel and PowerPoint
- Extreme attention to detail
- 1-2 years experience working in a client-facing role within investment advisory, asset management or similar financial services company
- Enjoy solving problems and finding creative solutions
- Strong interest in learning about Alternative Investments, including Venture Capital, Private Equity and other private investment strategies
- Team player – works well with others and does anything to get the job done
- Student of the market, news, and economy
- Enjoy building relationships with colleagues and clients including a service-oriented mindset and motivated to help others
- Work well independently
- Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment, be proactive, and handle confidential material
- Self-starter with extremely strong work ethic
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Ability to work full time out of the firm’s San Francisco office
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Job Type: Full-time, in person
Base Salary Range: $65-85K
Salary may vary depending on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills and experience. Full-time employees are generally eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes: medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k), life insurance, paid time off and commuter benefits. Annual bonus may also apply depending upon the role.
