Warehouse Assistant - Houston

Description/Job Summary

I. POSITION OBJECTIVE

This position provides administrative support to the Warehouse Supervisor to meet the needs of the business. Perform routine clerical duties as directed, including preparation of pick tickets for material handlers, creating pick orders, BOL, and other shipping documents in AS400, and assemble completed shipping paperwork for forwarding to customer service and filing.

Ii. Qualifications

• Receive import containers into AS400 database
• Corresponds with MGTH as to schedule of shipments for import containers
• Assist in cycle counts and reconciliation.
• Prepare daily pick tickets per instruction from Warehouse Supervisor.
• Assist in updating pick status in AS400 system.
• Must have regular, reliable attendance with the ability to work outside the normal work schedule when required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• JOB TASKS & DUTIES
• Update shipping/freight spreadsheet and file shipping copy.
• Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management
• Perform special projects as assigned
• Ability to complete multiple tasks and demands
• Verify pallet labels and count on shipment paperwork
• Order consumable material through correspondence with suppliers
• Assist in generating shipping documents in AS400/IBS system.
• Must be proficient in word processing and spreadsheets
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Track inventory and request purchase of consumable materials
• File completed shipping paperwork
• Assist with discrepancy reports and disposition packaging
• Print and process labels for customers as needed for shipments
• Match signed and completed shipping documents with Material Handler paperwork.
