As we continue to scale, SparkCharge is looking for high potential leaders to streamline operations across functions by building excellent teams and processes that support the customer journey end to end. The General Manager ensures the success of the site by overseeing all service operations. In this role, you are responsible for leading the team of Technicians and Warehouse and Delivery Associates in Houston and establishing efficient, customer-centric operations to help SparkCharge accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.
The Company:
SparkCharge is a fast-growing cleantech start-up that is reducing barriers to Electric Vehicle (EV) adoption. We design, manufacture, and sell portable, Level III charging systems for EVs. We also provide “Charging-as-a-Service” (CaaS) through our mobile app “Currently”, which allows EV owners to schedule charge delivery to wherever their vehicle is located. Responsibilities include:
- Communicates business priorities to the team and stakeholders and executes to meet Mobile Operations Department Goals
- Comfortable working closely with local vendors and partners to set up and expand operations with support of the Director of Mobile Operations this includes touring warehouse spaces and working with electricians to expand electrical infrastructure
- Has consistent 1:1s with direct reports and creates a culture of regular coaching and feedback
- Allocates and shifts resources as needed based on business priorities and customer needs in the mobile operations market
- Highly mission-driven and motivates others to see the big picture
- Ensure market has available resources to successfully meet KPIs
- Resilient and calm under intense pressure
- Report daily and weekly energy deployment to the central team
- Hires an excellent team of strong and diverse associates and takes personal responsibility for their onboarding and continued development
- Collaborates effectively with Engineering, Customer Success & other departments across the organization
- Understands and owns every aspect of the site’s performance. Sets targets, drives execution, and holds the team accountable both for individual and team results Drives standardization in alignment with broader organizational goals
- Addresses low performance quickly and compassionately. Resolves all people and safety issues in a timely and effective manner with support from the Director of People Operations
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience leading logistics operations
- Desire to innovate and learn with a strong entrepreneurial spirit
- Must be able to stand or sit for 8 hours or more
- Experience leading large teams in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift 70lb equipment multiple times per day
- Demonstrated ability to inspire, influence, and hold teams accountable to achieve a common goal
- Proven history of being punctual, reliable, and courteous
- Experience leading teams and managing a diverse group of roles and responsibilities
- Experience leading a distributed field operations team
- Ability to use equipment such as forklift and pallet jack, and willingness to get certified if not forklift certified
- Excellent or perfect driving record--no moving violations
- Occasional travel required for offsite meetings and events; normally less than 10% of the time
- Ability to pass a thorough background check
