Job Description

VP, Project Development - Energy Storage & Renewables


Title: VP, Project Development - Energy Storage & Renewables

Company type: PE Backed Energy Storage Start-Up

Location: Remote

Package: $300k + Cash bonus + Equity


PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE RECENT EXPERIENCE IN RENEWABLES TO BE CONSIDERED.


Objective:

  • Lead business development strategies for onshore renewables and storage across the US.
  • Drive core business requirements, meeting annual targets of PV, PVS, BESS.
  • Develop and implement development strategies, market intelligence, power marketing, and competitive strategies.
  • Expand technology business lines, including Solar, Solar + storage, wind, and storage.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead negotiations and finalize essential agreements to advance development projects.
  • Approve purchase requests, invoices, and expense reports within designated spending limits.
  • Develop comprehensive financial budgets and conduct financial analysis for proposed projects.
  • Provide oversight for daily development activities in line with the regional development strategy.
  • Collaborate with Senior Management to establish the development strategy.


Qualifications:

  • Strong background in Counter Party Management, including PPA negotiations, M&A, and partnership formation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Financial Valuation, market analysis, corporate approvals, and competitive analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Mathematics is a requirement; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Extensive experience (15+ years) in power development or a similar field.
  • Proficiency in Project Development and Portfolio Management for renewable energy (Wind, Solar, and Storage).
