With a customer-first business philosophy and a team dedicated to the highest product quality, it develops and manages strong, long-term relationships with customers in the quick-service restaurant, convenience store, theatre, and theme park industries.
About the Role:
The Vice President of Product Development role will lead the marketing and business product strategy for our New Division. He/she would be responsible for cross functional leadership in defining core product portfolio, driving future growth, value proposition, market positioning, strategic pricing, and overall roadmap development to drive margin and market share. This role will also collaborate and work cross functionally in filling portfolio gaps and working through key launch deliverables. The role requires someone with a strong business acumen, analytical skills, and a high sense of urgency.
Responsibilities:
Product Lifecycle Management
- Responsible for successful launch and commercialization of new products.
- Create and deliver clear, concise value propositions for each product developed.
- Create, execute, and maintain a product strategy to guide new product development efforts for the product categories.
- Work collaboratively with CTO and Principal Engineer to establish breakthrough innovations in the creation and dispensing of frozen and chilled products.
- Manage all products throughout all stages of their life cycle, developing strategies for development, introduction, continuous improvement, and after sales support (service), while maximizing their profitability and contributions to further growth of the division.
Business Development, Marketing and Sales
- Develop market strategy based on researching customer pain points & unmet needs, market sizes, and buyer personas.
- Develop and execute short-term and long-term strategic growth plans to drive revenue for product platforms to grow the business.
- Develop competitive intelligence utilizing customer interviews, market research, and channel knowledge to define the Voice of the Customer (VOC).
- Investigate and understand customer/market expectations; define product strategy that meets expectations of customers, distributors, and the division.
- Responsible for developing a robust and comprehensive business plan that will serve as the 3-5-year execution roadmap.
- Make pricing recommendations that position the products competitively in the market while maximizing margin potential for the business.
- Direct and perform market research to define market size, growth and trends including pricing, competition & opportunity.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience leading product-based business to business environment. 2-3 years of that experience should specifically be in leading product launches, new product introductions and commercialization.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical); MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience and a proven track record in successful business development with a focus on targeted customers and market segments.
- Must be able to travel up to 25% - occasional international travel.
- Experience and a proven track record in successfully working with Frozen and / or chilled food preparation, storage, and dispensing equipment.
- Experience and a proven track record in successfully working with dispensed products and applications in commercial dairy / non-dairy markets.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including cellular manufacturing.
- Must possess technical aptitude to understand product capabilities and market needs.
