VP, Product Manager, Payments

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for leading and developing the company’s payments product roadmap. The incumbent will be responsible for owning, driving, and defining the payments product roadmap, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that the product meets the needs of our customers and business objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and gather payment metrics to inform the success of each feature released and iterate using data-informed decisions on future roadmap items.
  • Understand and interpret API documentation in the context of why it is important.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with payment providers and partners to ensure that the payments product is always up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
  • Clearly articulate the problem you are solving for and communicate a compelling vision.
  • Manage and plan for payment mandates to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct user research, analyze customer feedback, and gather data to make informed decisions about the payments product roadmap.
  • Identify the ideal balance of implementation and go-to-market needs.
  • Follows policies and procedures; completes tasks correctly and on time; supports the company’s goals and values.
  • Treats people with respect; keeps commitments; inspires the trust of others; works ethically and with integrity; upholds organizational values; accepts responsibility for own actions.
  • Communicate updates on the payments product roadmap and strategy to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Understand and stay up-to-date with market trends, identify and prioritize features that meet the market needs.
  • Ensure alignment and clarity of the objectives throughout product delivery.
  • Own, drive and define payments roadmap including integrations, standards and mandates.
  • Use data analytics for monitoring product health and identifying any issues early.
  • Ensure the payment strategy incorporates business financials and impacts.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the payments product, and use data to make data-driven decisions about product strategy and prioritization.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Balance priorities to address technical and functional health of the platform.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Self-motivated, with a strong desire to learn and improve.
  • Technical experience in Payments.
  • Expert in the payment business and products and services provided by the payment gateways and processors, including but not limited to regulatory requirements, payment processing, industry norms and emerging trends.
  • Strong collaboration with executives and delivery teams.
  • Ability to make decisions that have significant impact on the immediate work unit and cross functional departments.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • If applicable, demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position including but not limited to the following: Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act), Regulation B (Equal Credit Opportunity Act), Fair Housing Act (FHA), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Customer Information Program (CIP), Right to Financial Privacy Act (RFPA, state and federal) and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).
  • Ability to organize and prioritize own work schedule and the work schedules of others on a short-term and long-term basis.
  • Ability to see the big picture vision and make a connection to accomplish business objectives.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR LICENSES:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience managing and prioritizing a backlog of both product feature requests and technical enhancements.
  • Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies
  • Experience developing products and writing requirements for ACH, Card payments, Fraud, Tokenization, Reporting and Chargebacks
  • 5-7 years of experience as a Product Manager.
  • Prior experience in the banking or financial services related field preferred.

SALARY RANGE: $129,842.71 - 185,868.13; Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
