Finatal are working with a rapidly growing, software services and solutions business looking for a best-in-class VP of FP&A. Following recent investment, from one of the most reputable, large-cap private equity funds in the US, this services business has embarked on an exciting growth journey, above that initially targeted by the fund and is now sitting at $400m revenue. The CFO is looking for an excellent number 2 to assist them on this growth. This role will have full control of the commercial function whilst supporting the CFO on business strategy, investor reporting and meetings with the private equity team.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, private equity partners, auditors, and financial institutions. Act as a trusted advisor on financial matters, communicating complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner.
• Lead the FP&A function by overseeing budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and variance analysis activities. Develop and maintain financial planning models, KPIs, and performance metrics to drive business insights and support decision-making processes.
• Maintain strong financial governance and compliance practices. Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls. Support audits, tax planning, and treasury management.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Present financial performance and forecasts to senior management, investors, and board members.
• Partner closely with the executive team to provide strategic financial guidance and contribute to the development and execution of the company's growth strategies. Identify opportunities for revenue optimization, cost reduction, and operational efficiency improvements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop capital allocation strategies, including investment decisions, capital structure optimization, and resource allocation across business units. Assess the financial viability of potential acquisitions, partnerships, and expansion initiatives.
• Build and lead a high-performing FP&A team. Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to team members. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of private equity dynamics and familiarity with private equity-backed companies.
• Proven experience financial planning and analysis roles, preferably within SaaS or technology-driven businesses.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with a strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in financial planning software, ERP systems, and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, CFA) is highly desirable.
