Position Summary:
The VP of Performance Management will be a key contributor to the Markets Leadership Team and report directly to the Markets - CFO. This role will collaborate daily with the Markets CFO and work closely with finance and analytics leaders across identified regions to drive both short- and long-term performance at the market and regional level. The VP will thrive in high-velocity, unstructured environments and possess the acute business judgment and communication skills needed to collaborate with a variety of people and job functions. Essential Job Functions:
  • Manages and seeks to develop the next generation of agilon leaders.
  • Participate in and lead financial/strategy discussions at the board level.
  • Responsible for leading identification, prioritization and implementation of actionable insights for our partner physicians. Drive continuous improvement through monitoring and adjusting to deliver improved performance.
  • Lead and develop team members, ensure they are motivated and engaged. Leadership responsibilities include staffing, coaching, conducting performance appraisals, training and developing team members.
  • Collaborate frequently with the leadership teams of the regions on developing short and long-term strategy, including clearly articulating the financial and operational implications of that strategy. Interact on a daily basis with Regional President and various market and platform leaders.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Act as a change agent, in continuous improvement of business performance, analytics, planning and forecasting processes.
  • Oversee the Performance Management Function for the Northeast and Southeast Regions of agilon health.
  • This is a key role in delivering long-term strategy as well as optimizing the operating performance of our markets.
  • Lead all traditional finance activities for the identified regions, including budgeting, forecasting, monthly & quarterly financial reporting, and partner cash flow forecasting.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum Experience:
  • 10+ years related work experience, preferably in a health care setting. Experience in value-based care is preferred. Working knowledge of Medicare and Medicare Advantage is preferred.
  • Experience leading high performing teams and driving outcome. Superior management skills: ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers.
Education/Licensure:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to be a team player and exercise initiative in responding to provider requests and concerns in a helpful and courteous manner Provider contracting and customer service techniques General understanding of the health care industry, ideally the provider relations field-desired Excellent interpersonal and telephone communication skills are required Exercise attention to detail; ability to provide accurate data entry Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision, multi-task, complete projects in a timely fashion and meet deadlines a must Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills a must. Language Skills: Strong communication skills both written and verbal to work with multiple internal and external clients in a fast-paced environment Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Computer Skills: Ability to create and maintain documents using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
