Responsibilities
  • Responsible for inventory management of finished goods and needs assessment for key raw and auxiliary materials
  • Derive regional strategic 1-3 year supply and capacity requirements plans from demand and inventory plans
  • Partner with all five North American Catalysts plant logistics functions to ensure or assist local compliance with all relevant Evonik policies, processes, procedures, transportation and trade compliance regulations, ISO practices and other safety and quality management system requirements.
  • Ensure delivery reliability and provide an early supply/demand warning system by conducting monthly Sales & Operations Planning processes for the supplying plants within the region and feed into a global S&OP process
  • Work in collaboration with Global supply chain partners to ensure consistency of approach and best practices.
  • Maintain target service levels by customer segment via strategic inventory targets, safety stocks, lead times
  • Accountable for sizing and managing dedicated owned and leased fleets of bulk trucks and railcars
  • Responsible for coordinating import and export of finished goods, intermediates between plants and contract manufacturers
  • Accountable for service complaint management
  • Lead direct reports of Demand & Supply Manager, Sr. Supply Chain Manager and Head of Customer Service and Customer Service (depending on the site Customer Service is part of Sales).
  • Lead Supply Chain optimization projects
  • Optimize plant utilization within the regional network of 4 plants plus tollers/re-packers with respect to demand fulfillment, distribution logistics and supply chain costs
  • Partner with Logistics Procurement function to implement new carriers/service providers or alternate transportation methods (back-up carriers, routes, shipping modes) to reduce Supply Chain risk for key accounts with delivered freight terms and support cost reductions.
  • Track Supply Chain KPI’s and evaluate trends for inconsistencies, savings opportunities and areas for needed improvement.
  • Responsible for the selection and management of third-party service providers such as warehouses, re-packers, tollers; and for implementing Supply Chain Quality Management with key providers.
  • Provides oversight of the internal and external customer orders in an efficient, expedient, and accurate manner working with credit department, sales, marketing, product & inventory management to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for management of blocked stocks
  • Responsible for strategic and tactical planning of the production and supply network.
Requirements
  • Individual must possess demonstrated strengths in verbal and written communication, strategic thinking, presentations skills, and leadership.
  • Uses extensive knowledge and skills to negotiate independently while advising and training others on how to help the organization by reaching consensus between two or more internal or external parties with potentially different interests.
  • Applies extensive knowledge/skills, acts independently and advises and trains others
  • Works in accordance with procedures and guidelines set forth in the ISO Quality and Environmental Management System.
  • Experience with oversight and management of employees and other resources in a limited time frame with the aim of achieving certain results.
  • Uses extensive knowledge and skills to work independently while advising and training others in planning, organizing, prioritizing, and overseeing activities to efficiently achieve business objectives.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering) or MBA degree, with 5+ years supply chain experience in the Catalysts or chemical industry.
