Job Description
Overview:
The VP of Pricing Strategy will provide innovative, influential leadership in developing, evaluating and implementing pricing strategies and tactics for markets, facilities, services and payers across Novant Health. This position requires a wide range of financial expertise and experience in both the provider and insurance aspects of healthcare pricing and managed care as well as a high degree of familiarity with local and regional markets. The VP of Pricing Strategy continually studies and explores evolving pricing strategies, methodologies, and tools across healthcare and other industries, incorporating into Novant Health’s strategy and applicable initiatives. The VP of Pricing Strategy works closely with other enterprise functions, including but not limited to: Novant Health Medical Group, Marketing, Finance, Consumer Strategy, Government Affairs, Institutes, and Revenue Cycle, to provide sound strategic and tactical recommendations for a variety of Novant Health initiatives. Collaboration with other individuals and teams across the system is extremely important. The VP develops pricing strategies, structures and tactics for markets, payers, and services, encompassing charges and contractual arrangements. The VP champions consumer-driven perspectives and market- based strategy in all initiatives. The successful candidate continually studies and explores evolving pricing strategies, methodologies, and tools, incorporating into Novant Health’s strategy and applicable initiatives - examples include value-based pricing, healthcare total cost of care risk for populations and price elasticity. Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum seven years' experience in health care financial management or product strategy with emphasis in pricing, managed care and risk contracting, required. Minimum two years supervisory experience of analytics team. Payer experience a plus, required.
  • Additional Skills Required:
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives.
    • Demonstrated ability to influence large-scale initiatives and strategies outside direct area of responsibility.
    • Demonstrated success in creating innovative pricing strategies and providing thought leadership within a market(s) to positively enhance and/or achieve strategic objectives on behalf of their organization.
    • Ability to drive/travel to multiple locations/facilities as needed.

  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in business economics, accounting, finance, mathematics, statistics, marketing (product strategy), or health care administration, required.
