Mission
Waséyabek Federal Group (WFG) is a Division of Waséyabek Development Company, LLC (WDC), a wholly owned economic investment company by the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP), a federally recognized Indian Tribe. WDC is committed to fostering the development of a stable, diversified economy for members of the Band which will contribute to their long-term wealth and economic self-sufficiency while managing risk and creating quality employment opportunities.
WFG is ~$17 million and approximately 200 employees, providing leading solutions and services to the Department of Energy (DoE) and Department of Defense (DoD) across multiple service lines including Operations & Maintenance, Professional Services, Environmental Services, and IT & Cybersecurity.
Position Summary
The Vice President of the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Service Line for the Waséyabek Federal Group (WFG) is responsible for executing the overall strategic direction, growth and performance of the O&M Service Line. This position reports directly to the President of WFG, partnering closely with the WFG Shared Services Team and other Federal Service Line Leaders to plan and execute business strategy.
The ideal candidate will have comprehensive Federal industry knowledge and prior leadership experience driving growth in the O&M space.
Responsibilities:
- Attract, retain, and develop a high performing, diverse team capable of achieving business goals and developing next generation leaders.
- Utilize centralized WFG and WDC shared services teams to improve efficiency, cost, and compliance.
- Develop and monitor a metrics scorecard to ensure visibility into and focus on quality, delivery, cost, profit, and customer satisfaction.
- Design, manage and evolve an organizational structure to successfully achieve the business strategy.
- Experience with Collective Bargaining Agreements.
- Develop along with the President and lead the organic growth strategy for the O&M Service Line within WFG.
- Engage with the customer to continue to build the relationship and provide solutions.
- Provide contract transition support.
- Ensure operational procedures, practices, and supporting technologies are well defined, documented and consistently applied.
- Plan, direct and coordinate the delivery of day-to-day operations within the O&M Service Line, partnering with Project/Program Managers to ensure optimal productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
- Experience working with SCA Workforce.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises/risks, and devise and execute mitigation plans.
- Provide O&M support on proposal efforts.
- Provide guidance and oversight to O&M projects including subsidiary development and internal system builds and implementations.
- Manage safety personnel and protocols.
- Stay abreast of industry regulations (FAR), trends, best practices and innovations that could impact success within the DoE and DoD.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Prior experience in re-badging Federal employees.
- A minimum of ten years working in Operations and Maintenance including prior experience with Base Support Operations Maintenance (BASOPS).
- Expert proficiency in verbal and written communication with internal and external stakeholders at all career levels.
- Strong leadership capability with proven track record of developing talent through leading by example and modelling “do what it takes attitude and ability to get into the details” behavior.
- Ability to pass an extensive background investigation, including but not limited to personal and professional financial history, nationwide criminal record search, credit check and other relevant background information deemed necessary by WDC.
- Ability to quickly adapt focus, adjust schedule and problem solve to meet evolving work demands and needs of supervisor and other stakeholders.
- Advanced knowledge of government agency regulations, proposal writing, and standards/protocols regarding operations, logistics and resource utilization.
- Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also work independently and balance multiple competing priorities and tasks.
- A minimum of ten years of progressive leadership experience in the Federal industry.
- Steward the organizational culture with a focus on teamwork, collaboration, focus on solutions, and commitment to service amidst a diverse colleague and customer base.
- A minimum of five years of experience working with 8(a) or other small business entities on Federal projects.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or engineering.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret or Q Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current Clearance (S or TS).
- DoE Experience.
- A Master of Business Administration.
- OCONUS Experience.
- Prior experience in business development and/or sales with proven track record of developing strong customer relationships and negotiating complex deals.
- Project Management Professional PMP Certification.
- DoD Experience.

Travel Requirements:
