How You'll Perform The Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) of the company, the VP, Resins leads the resin category in strategic sourcing, executive planning and operational purchasing activities of the business. The resin category is roughly $1 Billion in spend and includes subcategories covering PE, PP, RPET, PS, PCR, PIR, component films, colorants and additives. This position is responsible for determining and directing activities that will improve operational efficiencies by leading the resin planning and sourcing team and ensuring that the Company acquires raw materials (resin) at optimal value and within the required timeframe. This position is instrumental in budgeting and developing strategic and operating plans, while working closely with external and internal customers and vendors to make certain that the Company has the appropriate resources to support current forecasted business and projected growth. The position has a high degree of executive visibility and interaction.

• Acts as coach and developer of managerial talent; as well as skillfully selects and trains those individuals.
• Deploys and redeploys resources among managers’ areas.
• Provide executive leadership in the planning process and design for all resin purchases
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
• Negotiates strategic vendor contracts.
• Provides regular status updates to senior management and other key stakeholders on sourcing initiatives, market analytics, and cost saving strategies.
• Organizes direct reports into a productive team to encourage synergy.
• Develops and executes the strategic sourcing function for key raw materals (resin) totally roughly $1B in spend
• Supports Merger & Acquisition activities related to resin businesses
• Provides frequent and clear feedback to direct reports, offers clear direction, and ensures direct reports are sure about their goals.
• Effectively delegates to direct reports with proper control systems in place to ensure accountability and to prevent decision making bottlenecks.
• Leads the resin sourcing and purchasing team.
• Manages existing relationships with strategic suppliers to create a mutually beneficial supplier partnership while meeting or exceeding overall business objectives.

What We Need From You

• Results driven, analytical, self-motivated and detail oriented with the ability to logically identify alternative solutions or approaches to complex problems.
• 10+ years of related experience in a process manufacturing industry (preferred).
• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Management, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or related discipline. MBA/CPSM/CPIM preferred.
• Ability to successfully work to reach company goals in an environment in which a wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
