Senior Director Of Investments

The Senior Director of Underwriting, Risk and Investments is a pivotal role that will be responsible for driving the growth of DLP's Dream Communities portfolio, in addition to DLP's lending portfolio. This leader, will lead and oversee deal underwriting, deal negotiation, due diligence activity, and potential sourcing and placement of debt.

What you have already achieved: (Requirements)

• 5+ years experience in managing high performing teams
• Maintain a high level of expertise in all DLP lending products and procedures, including sales programs and guidelines, operational standards, & construction underwriting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• 7 - 10 years minimum experience in real estate investment and acquisition focused on affordable workforce housing

What you are great at: (Responsibilities)

• Lead underwriting of all deals - developments, acquisitions, equity, debt.
• Lead BOV process.
• Network and build relationships with multi-family sponsors and brokers to generate acquisitions, JV, and lending opportunities.
• Keep DLP's investment box up to date.
• Lead and mentor existing team members. Promote close collaboration between Investments and other teams to prevent potential blind spots. Look for ways to bring on additional talent going forwards and set up scalable talent attractor mechanisms.
• Manage deal pipeline.
• Draft LOIs and PSAs.
• Lead completion of investment summaries and loan summaries.
• Make Investment Recommendations. Identify potential strategic housing investment trends and opportunities. Recommend target markets, deal profiles/characteristics/risk profiles/geographies.
• Lead risk mitigation.
• Negotiate acquisition agreements, JV agreements, and term sheets.
• Refine Investment Processes. Spearhead deliberate, intentional strategies for the platform, including acquisitions, asset management, debt procurement, innovation, leadership, etc.
• Work with Investment Analysts, Portfolio Managers, and Preconstruction and Development to evaluate investment opportunities.
• Lead Valuations for HF & BCF Fund.
• Lead re-underwriting of each equity deal annually.
