What you’ll do…
Enchanted Rock is in the process of building the most advanced Microgrid Management System as the only company with a vast fleet of distributed energy resources under management. The Vice President of Software Development will be responsible for leading the software development team and driving the technical direction of the software development projects. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to build and mentor a team of software developers and related staff.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and partners.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of software products and solutions.
- Identifying and prioritizing software development initiatives based on business needs and available resources.
- Managing software development projects, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification.
- Providing leadership and direction to the software development team, setting clear goals and objectives for the team to achieve.
- Establishing and enforcing software development processes and standards to ensure consistent and high-quality software development.
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to software development team members, promoting professional development and growth.
- Developing and implementing a technical vision and strategy for the organization, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the software development team.
You’ll sweep us off our feet if you:
- Demonstrated ability to manage software development projects from inception to completion.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing software development strategies, processes, and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong technical skills and experience in software development technologies and methodologies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Java and Microsoft Azure is desirable.
- 15+ years of software development experience, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to build and mentor high-performing software development teams.
Physical requirements and working conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
