This growing, southeastern-based agency represents a diverse mix of high profile, regional brands across consumer, food, tourism, fast casual, retail, B2B, and more in a creative, collaborative culture. The agency is seeking dynamic, creative candidates with 8-12 years of experience who want to jump on a rocket ship and make an impact!
The Vice President of Public Relations will develop and help execute earned media and other integrated campaigns while coaching and mentoring teammates. PR efforts will work alongside marketing teammates and dovetail with creative, digital, content, and other marketing strategies. Excellent writing and verbal communications skills are required as well as a demonstrated knowledge of traditional/social media and experience working in crisis/issues management. Business development, campaign measurement, and budget management expertise are needed along with a positive attitude, collaborative spirit, and relentless curiosity.
Compensation: $140,000-$160,000 + annual performance bonus + generous benefits
Location: Remote with travel required for client relations and agency business development
What You’ll Do:
Maintain positive client relationships by addressing their needs and identifying opportunities to help achieve their business goals.
- Stay abreast of client industries, issues and trends to develop sound, informed, breakthrough PR recommendations.
- Develop methodologies for measuring and reporting on the effectiveness of agency campaigns that align with clients’ business goals.
- Develop and execute earned media and other visibility programs, often in collaboration with agency counterparts from creative, digital, content and other disciplines.
- Support agency business development efforts.
- Lead agency self-promotion efforts, including trade media outreach; website, blog and social media content; speaking opportunities; and awards programs.
- Develop and manage account budgets to maximize client value while delivering reasonable returns to the agency.
- Identify and maintain relationships with key media, bloggers and other influencers.
- Supervise other teammates by overseeing their work and serving as a coach and mentor in developing their skills.
What We’re Looking For:
Minimum 10 years of prior public relations, communications or other related experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with agency self-promotion and existing relationships with key marketing industry trade publications would also be a definite plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of traditional and social media, with an emphasis on identifying good stories and connecting to the right audience.
- Critical and creative thinker with the ability to apply curiosity to all aspects of the role.
- Strong organizational, project and time management skills with a high level of attention to detail and resourcefulness.
- Energetic and enthusiastic team player.
- Proven media relations skills with a track record of success among local, regional, national and specialized media outlets, including trade outlets covering the advertising and marketing category.
