Job Description

Tri-County Technical College invites candidates to apply for the role of Vice President of Human Resources. The Vice President reports to the President and serves as the Chief Human Resources Officer. The position works closely with Executive Staff members, administrators, the TCTC Commission, and the human resources team to provide executive-level guidance and leadership for the college's human resources operations.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Provides executive-level vision, strategy, innovation, and leadership for human resources and oversees all human resources functions and disciplines that support improved organizational effectiveness and performance. Responsible for the development and implementation of operational and long-range human resources policies and practices that are effective, innovative, responsive and that support the College’s mission, vision, values, and goals. Designs and implements operational and long-range strategies including talent management (succession planning, high potential & leadership development), performance management, organizational strategy and structure, compensation, diversity, and employee engagement and retention. Coordinates with organizational development to create and implement a centralized training function to offer relevant ongoing training and development programs.

Leads a Human Resources Team/Department that is responsible for delivering comprehensive human resources services, administering policies, and implementing legally compliant best practices. Maintains a working knowledge of state and federal human resources policies and regulations.

Serves as Chief Advisor/Chief Human Resources Officer to President, Executive Staff, Commission, and other institutional leaders on all matters regarding the human resources operations. Interprets and explains the impact of regulatory and other external and internal changes and requirements on the college's HR policies and practices. Functions as a partner in supporting the executive leadership team to achieve college goals. Serve as executive sponsor for strategic initiatives that directly involve human capital and talent management.

Works with the President and Executive Staff to recruit and develop a diverse college workforce. Provides leadership and guidance for creating an employee experience that fosters a sense of belonging for college employees. Plans, evaluates, and analyzes the College’s operational and strategic plans on affirmative action and equal employment. Serves as the College’s Affirmative Action Officer.

Serves as legal liaison for the College. Oversees communication and coordination efforts between the College and others; Serves as primary point of contact for all legal matters; Streamlines operations, resolve issues, improve communication, and ensure the College’s relationship is as beneficial as possible in legal matters.


A master's degree plus seven (7) years of progressively responsible related work experience.
