Background:

Simon Group Holdings (SGH) is a private equity firm and family office that was established in 1985 with the founding of the Atlas Oil Company. The organization has diverse business interests, including energy solutions, logistics and transportation, technology incubation, fuel supply, real estate, aerospace and defense, oil field services, private equity and insurance solutions.

Job Summary:

The Vice President of Human Resources (HR) provides executive-level leadership and guidance to the organization’s HR operations. The Vice President is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, and identifying and implementing long-range strategic talent management goals. In addition, the Simon Group Holdings team is looking for a dynamic individual to collaborate and implement strong culture integration and reinforcement with our portfolio of companies, including the Atlas Oil Company. This position would be charged with enhancing our environment of transparency and honesty and promoting our core values.

This position provides a unique experience to work alongside our founder/chairman with all companies in the SGH portfolio and their leadership to ensure our HR compliance and cultural integration are best in class!

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop culture content reflective of the founder/chairman’s vision and strategy to drive a healthy work environment and a team/family atmosphere.
  • Work closely with leadership teams to ensure they are aligned and practicing our cultural values and evaluate their successes or issues to continue to grow and improve.
  • Ensure compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
  • Identify key performance indicators for the organization’s human resources, payroll, benefits, and talent management/acquisition functions; assess the organization’s success and market competitiveness based on these metrics.
  • Evaluate weaknesses/opportunities and create a strategy to engage new and seasoned team members on our cultural values.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the human resource management team; assist with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues.
  • Research, develop, and implement competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to define the organization’s long-term mission and goals; identifies ways to support this mission through talent management.
  • Participates in professional development and networking conferences and events.
  • Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.
  • Challenge conventions on our current systems; constantly seek opportunities to incorporate new best practices and methods to refine and improve.

Education and Experience:

  • An undergraduate and/or graduate degree in human resources or a related field is preferred; a secondary degree in business, communications, psychology or similar will be strongly considered.
  • At least ten years of human resource management experience required, with strategic, talent management, cultural integration, payroll, benefits and/or business development experience highly preferred.
