Job Description

Are you passionate about making a significant impact? We are seeking an outstanding Vice President of Human Resources for Emerson’s Discrete Automation Group who will bring objectivity, value, and excitement to our teams and business. You will be responsible for crafting the strategy of the business and developing and implementing organizational strategies that align structure, culture, and talent with business goals.

The Vice President of Human Resources role is a high-visibility role with a strong dotted line to Emerson’s Chief People Officer. As a strategic HR partner and a member of the senior leadership team, you will play a meaningful role in driving the success of Discrete Automation. With 12,000 employees and over 50 manufacturing facilities worldwide, this is an opportunity to work with a dynamic organization anticipated to double in growth in the next few years.

In this role, you will be part of Emerson's enterprise global human resources leadership team and contribute to the exciting transformation of the HR function. You will have the chance to influence and drive the strategy to support the goals related to this transformation.

As the Vice President of Human Resources, you will:

Global Leader

  • Serve as a member of the senior leadership team for the Discrete Automation Group and lead its global HR function and team.
  • Represent the strategic HR interests of the Discrete Automation business with the Emerson HR leadership team, and work with this team to collaboratively set functional strategy and direction across the enterprise.
  • Work with regional and global partners to address regional needs and implement global initiatives.

Culture Champion

  • Foster a culture where ownership of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, along with Environment Health and Safety, is embraced by all employees.

Capability Builder

  • Establish credibility throughout the organization by being an effective listener, mentor, and problem solver.
  • Apply insights from our Employee Listening Programs and through direct feedback to drive continuous improvements.
  • Build organizational capability and efficiency through ownership of talent management processes including acquisition, assessment, performance management, employee development, organization planning and retention.

Required Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Strategic Mindset with the ability to align HR Strategies with overall business goals and objectives and understand how HR initiatives drive organizational success
  • Strong Communication, Interpersonal & Influencing Skills
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future
  • Ability to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally
  • Relevant years of leadership experience commensurate with the level of the position
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:

  • M&A integration experience
  • Demonstrated expertise leading Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and Environmental, Health and Safety programs
  • A demonstrable experience in leading a large global organization, preferably in a matrix organization
