Dick Clark Productions: Vice President, Events


Dick Clark Productions (DCP), the world's largest producer and proprietor of televised live event entertainment programming, is hiring a Vice President of Events who will bring DCP content to life by producing world-class industry and consumer-facing events and custom video content. This executive will leverage the Company’s IP to help develop new event and, in conjunction with the sponsorship team, associated revenue opportunities, and implement best practices to achieve the KPI’s of the brand, sponsors, and clients.


This role requires a highly creative, experienced, entrepreneurial, strategic thinker with a deep understanding of all aspects of production related to live events, virtual events, conferences, and related sponsored/branded video content. This position will be involved with all aspects of event production from ideation through execution including event marketing, sponsorship, content strategy, logistics, talent relations, public relations, P&L management, business development and client servicing. Knowledge and passion for media, music, entertainment, as well as the technology and marketing tools to deliver successful events and content are essential.


Responsibilities


  • Oversee production elements including managing logistics, contracts, vendors, promotion, marketing, ticketing, printed materials, editing, post production and technical aspects
  • Management experience in creating unique and relevant events and branded/sponsored associated content
  • Set, communicate and maintain timelines and priorities for event and video productions
  • Work with marketing to plan content and oversee production
  • Manage project P&L’s, budget creation, submission and reconciliation with Finance teams 

  • Work with sales and marketing to develop event sponsorship and branded/sponsored content proposals and coordinate key sponsorship assets and activation opportunities
  • Identify and explore new opportunities for collaborations with organizations, festivals and other event producers
  • Provide post event analysis, budget recaps, internal and client feedback and incorporate learning into future event plans 

  • Proven ability in financial management of large and small scale events and associated custom content with the ability to create revenue models and production budget outlines.

  • Highly organized with great attention to detail
  • Strong relationships within relevant industries
  • Ability to work nights and weekends when needed
  • Deep consumer experience sponsorship experience
  • Experience working closely with highly creative leaders
  • Entrepreneurial business and commercial mindset
  • Ability to produce events and custom content working across all departments including sales, editorial, marketing, social, legal, finance and PR
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities, work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and interact with a wide range of people
  • 7+ years in media related event production
  • Ability to think objectively and problem solve
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to represent varying opinions within a strong, collaborative team environment
  • Media or agency experience desirable


Typical wage range: $150k - $175k + discretionary bonus. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
