We are seeking a Vice President of Brand Marketing with a minimum of 12+ years of professional experience to be responsible for leading brand marketing strategies for our clients. This role will help lead the continued growth of the agency by successfully helping to launch, grow, and maintain a varied roster of brands. You’ll foster collaboration within the agency and facilitate organic growth, to advance internal initiatives. You’ll lead a team that executes 360 holistic strategies across multiple channels to deliver against both brand & financial goals.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Strategy Development:
- Generate long-term plans and program recommendations for clients and oversee and play an active part in the execution
- Set up and lead data-driven and well-researched traditional and integrated marketing programs to build reputation and brand trust
- Demonstrate strong conceptual thinking with high energy and excellent “story-telling” skills demonstrated through writing creative briefs and verbal presentation
- Develop overarching and tactical earned media and digital strategies for accounts, including campaign activations, executive visibility, thought leadership, and ongoing efforts
- Generate creative and integrated ideas and opportunities with the world of content development at the forefront to help teams develop content for owned, earned, and paid media efforts where appropriate, such as social media, infographics, video, etc.
- Collaborate with agency partners (e.g. media, influencer, etc.), as necessary, to develop and implement integrated program execution
- The role is responsible for working with cross-functional teams in the development and oversight of the execution of strategic PR, marketing, and digital initiatives.
- Actively lead and participate in an integrated agency team, with a focus on media and digital results
Client-Focused:
- Provide exemplary senior counsel and superior client management to key clients as the account owner, supporting others as needed with client challenges as they arise, and contribute to organic growth of existing client work (e.g. upsell additional services when/where appropriate)
- Ability to multitask on fast-paced accounts, providing one-off POVs to clients in a timely manner
- Expertly counsel clients across a range of industries to manage issues and meet business goals based on a deep understanding of the media, digital, and stakeholder landscape
- Develop strategic and attainable solutions to solve complex client issues
- Responsible for building and nurturing the client relationship while supporting the management and optimization of a team to support PR, marketing, digital, and/or social efforts
- Client-facing responsibilities will include strategic program planning, managing programs and initiatives to meet business objectives, effectively delegating projects, providing strategic counsel to team members, and allocating agency resources while managing client schedules and budgets
Practice Management, Culture, and People Leadership:
- Responsible for the leadership of the agency by developing junior talent and providing strategic inputs across divisions and accounts
- Attend account reviews and staff meetings - provide ongoing communications and feedback
- Account for quality control and review of client correspondence, proposals, press materials, messaging Q&As, etc.
- Lead the operational and financial performance of client account teams, ensuring consistent quality and innovative work
- Contribute to RFP responses and drive organic growth by building relationships with C-level Key Clients in partnership with Client Leads and Senior Advisors
- Lead staff and account teams by mentoring, motivating, coaching, consistently providing feedback, holding them accountable, conducting their reviews, overseeing their professional development, and building a diverse practice
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be proactive and flexible, a team player able to work in a fluid environment with changing priorities
- Is able to effectively prioritize and solve complex problems while making decisions with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Has a track record of leading innovative communications programs that have advanced client business goals
- Possess a thorough command of the PR, social media, and digital world (from the evolving social web to tools and trends), sophisticated client service and digital communications skills, high energy, and passion for an area of rapid change and innovation
- Has a strong understanding of how to communicate with teams and work from both client and agency perspectives
- Demonstrates advanced writing, editing, and presentation-development skills; project management skills; and consultative skills (including effective questioning, critical thinking, client management, and communication methodology application).
- Works well within highly collaborative, multidisciplinary teams – displaying proven ability in running a team, controlling timelines and budgets, anticipating issues, and working toward solutions to complex problems
- Understands a variety of research tools and techniques and how to turn research – primary and/or secondary – into client insights, strategies, and tactics
- Has an exceptional record of leadership, strategy development, client management, and team development
- Is a strong people manager, with the confidence, professionalism, and entrepreneurial spirit necessary to manage a team
- Is passionate about client service, is collaborative, fosters new ways of thinking, and is willing to work on teams to create bold new things
- Able to manage program budgets, prioritize work and manage client expectations
